Dr Timothy Howel Clayton
Dr Timothy Howel Clayton is a vastly experienced award winning UK trained trusted consultant dermatologist who practices in Manchester. He is fully trained in both adult and paediatric dermatology and Tim is listed on the GMC specialist register. He has over 20 years experience in clinical dermatology and he has been a consultant adult and paediatric dermatologist since 2007.
Tim was named by the Times of London as one of the top 100 uk children’s doctors and he has published over 50 manuscripts and has appeared regularly on BBC, ITV and other documentaries.
He has been an NHS consultant dermatologist since 2006 and works at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. He has vast experience in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology.
He has family in North and South Wales and is learning to speak Welsh.
Dr Siân Hickey
Dr Siân Hickey is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist who practices at St Helens Hospital. She has worked for 25 years in the NHS, 15 years as a Consultant treating all aspects of adult Dermatology. Her interests include benign skin lesions, skin cancer and inflammatory skin disease such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and rosacea. Her sub-speciality is female genital skin disease. She is listed on the GMC Specialist Register, a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Association of Dermatologists and the North of England Dermatology Society. She is bilingual and her first language is Welsh. She grew up in North Wales and her family remain in the region.
Dr Jennifer Sharif, Consultant Dermatologist
Dr Jennifer Sharif is an experienced consultant dermatologist with a full-time NHS post based in Salford. She provides comprehensive care across all aspects of adult general dermatology, with particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory skin conditions and benign skin lesions.
Dr Sharif also undertakes regular paediatric dermatology clinics and has extensive experience in caring for children and young people with skin disease. She is a core member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) and is highly experienced in the assessment and management of skin cancers.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Sharif has a strong interest in service development and clinical governance. She has previously held the role of Dermatology Governance Lead and is currently the Clinical Lead for the Stockport Dermatology Service.
Dr Sharif is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the British Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Dermatology.
Dr Jonathan Bertalot BSC MBBS MRCS MCEM MRCGP DPD
Specialist Doctor in Dermatology and GP with Extended Role (GPwER) in Skin Lesion Management
Dr Bertalot graduated from Imperial College, London in 2002. He trained initially in Surgery at University Hospital, Birmingham, and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Member of the College of Emergency Medicine. He subsequently trained in General Practice, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
He has focussed on skin conditions and developed considerable expertise in the assessment and management of skin lesions. He spent a year in Australia gaining further experience and training in skin cancer management and skin surgery.
He was accredited by the British Association of Dermatologists as a GP with Extended Role in Skin Lesion Management – the first in Wales to achieve this accreditation. He regularly teaches other doctors and has delivered lectures and courses at both local and national events. He is a member of the International Dermoscopy Society (IDS), the British Society of Dermatological Surgery (BSDS) and the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC).
Dr Bertalot can provide full skin checks and mole monitoring as well as surgical removal of common skin lumps and bumps, including lipomas, cysts, and harmless skin growths. He can also remove many skin cancers. He is also able to surgically remove ingrowing toenails. He is a fluent Welsh speaker and is happy to consult in English or Welsh.
Mr Christopher Jones
Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon
Mr Christopher David Jones is a Consultant Head and Neck Plastic Surgeon at Whiston Hospital in Liverpool, with additional commitments at Bangor Hospital in North Wales. He is trained and highly experienced in removing all types of complex skin cancers. He also practices as an Aesthetic Surgeon at Manchester Plastic Surgery in Altrincham and leads the Cosmetic Surgery service at Pennant Private Medical Clinic.

Private Skin Surgery
All tissue removal is required by law to be sent to the laboratories for histology. A histology is the study of tissues and cells under a microscope to provide a diagnosis. The prices quoted below are inclusive of histology.

Private Skin Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy for skin lesions is commonplace within the world of dermatology. It can be a very effective treatment for treating numerous warts, seborroic keratosis, solar keratosis and can sometimes be a supportive measure in the treatment of minor skin cancers.
Hyperhidrosis / Excessive Sweating using Botox (The treatment of hyperhidrosis can be achieved with Botox injections and certain medications. Prior to going to treatment a patient will have to have a full consultation with either the GP or the dermatologist)
