The problem
Tired of waiting months for an NHS vasectomy?
In Wales, the NHS waiting list for a vasectomy can stretch past 12 months. Before you even get on that list, you need a GP referral. Another appointment, another wait, and still no certainty on timing.
If you have made your mind up, waiting over a year to act on it is frustrating. There is no clinical reason it has to take that long.
At Pennant, you contact us directly, we book you in, and the whole thing, consultation, procedure and follow-up, costs £775 fixed

Your £775 covers
One price. No extras.
Every part of your vasectomy, from the first conversation with Dr Bertalot to the follow-up test, is covered by the fixed fee.
01
Initial consultation
A one-to-one conversation with Dr Bertalot to go through the procedure, answer any questions you have, and confirm you're a suitable candidate before anything is booked.
02
No-scalpel vasectomy
A minimally invasive procedure carried out under local anaesthetic here at the clinic. No surgical incision is made. Dr Bertalot uses the no-scalpel technique, which means less discomfort and a quicker recovery. The procedure itself takes around 20 minutes
03
Follow-up semen test
A post-procedure semen analysis to confirm the vasectomy has worked. Included in your £775. No separate lab fee
Your £775 covers all three stages. No hidden charges, no extra consultation fees, no lab costs on top. What you see is what you pay.
On the day
What to expect
Most men are surprised how quick it is. You come in, have it done, and go home the same day.
01 Arrival
You arrive at the clinic, and Dr Bertalot talks you through what to expect before anything starts. A local anaesthetic is applied. Most men find the discomfort much less than they anticipated.
02 The procedure
No surgical incision is made. Dr Bertalot uses the no-scalpel technique, which means less discomfort and a quicker recovery. The procedure takes around 20 minutes.
03 Recovery
You rest briefly before going home the same day. Take it easy for 48 hours. Most men are back at a desk job within two or three days.
04 Follow-up
Your semen test is included in the price. When the result comes back clear, that confirms the procedure has done its job.
Dr Bertalot trained as a surgeon and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons before moving into general practice, so minor surgical procedures are very much within his field of expertise.

FAQs
Common questions
A few things most men want to know before they get in touch.
Most men say it was nothing like as bad as they thought it would be. A local anaesthetic is used, so during the procedure you will feel pressure but not pain. There can be a dull ache for a day or two afterwards. Ibuprofen or paracetamol are usually sufficient.
No. You can contact Pennant directly without seeing your GP first. Call us on 01286 238477 or use the form on this page.
The procedure itself is around 20 minutes. Allow roughly an hour at the clinic in total, including a brief rest before you leave.
Most men are back at a desk job within two to three days. If your work involves physical activity or heavy lifting, a full week off is sensible.
We recommend waiting at least a week. You will also need to use contraception until your follow-up semen test comes back clear. It takes a little time to become fully effective.
Yes. This procedure should be considered as permanent. Vasectomy reversals are occasionally attempted but are not available in this clinic or on the NHS and have a very poor success rate. You need to be certain before undergoing this procedure.
Everything. Your initial consultation, the procedure itself and the follow-up semen test. No additional charges at any stage.
There is no waiting list. Once you get in touch, we will find a date that works for you as quickly as possible.
